Arkansas Nuclear One, the power plant on the lake, sits between Russellville and London.

Schools

Five districts are based in the county: Russellville, Pottsville, Atkins, Dover and Hector. London Elementary is part of the Russellville district.

District lines out in the county don't always follow the town name on the mailbox, so if a particular school matters to you, check the exact address with the district before you make an offer. I'll help you do that.

The state publishes a report card for every public school at myschoolinfo.arkansas.gov.

Property taxes

A $200,000 home inside Russellville city limits is assessed at $40,000 (20% of value). At 45.82 mills (a mill is $1 per $1,000 of assessed value) that is $1,833 a year before credits, and $1,233 after the $600 homestead credit for a primary residence. Those are 2025 rates, billed in 2026.

Pope County's own rate is 4.5 mills. The school district makes up most of the bill, so Pottsville, Atkins and Dover run a few mills higher than Russellville. The full table, the homestead credit and what changes when a home sells are on my property tax page.

I'm a Realtor, not a tax advisor. Confirm any parcel with the county assessor before you rely on a number.

A county median won't tell you much about your house. Recent sales on your street and nearby streets will. Tell me the street and I'll run the numbers from recent sales nearby. I'll text you what I think it'd bring.
