School Districts in Johnson County, Arkansas

I'm Justin Sherman, a Realtor in Clarksville. Which district a house is in is one of the first things buyers ask. Here are the districts, their schools, and where to check the rest. I don't rank schools. The state publishes a report card for each one, and that's the place to compare them.

Which district is this house in?

The mailing address won't tell you. Part of Clarksville's city limits is in the Lamar district, and homes out in the county can fall either way.

Call the district office with the exact address before you make an offer. I'll help you do that.

Comparing schools

The state publishes a report card for every public school at myschoolinfo.arkansas.gov. Search for the school and open its report card.

I don't rank schools or steer buyers toward one. That's your call, and the state's numbers are the place to start.

School choice

Arkansas lets families apply to attend a district they don't live in, under the Public School Choice Act. Applications are taken January 1 through June 1.

The state's Education Freedom Account program has been open to any K-12 student in Arkansas since the 2025-26 school year.

Rules change, so confirm with the district or the Arkansas Department of Education. I'm a Realtor, not a school official.

College in town

The University of the Ozarks is in Clarksville. It traces its start to 1834 at Cane Hill, moved to Clarksville in 1891, and enrolled 796 students in fall 2025.
